The Zanu-PF Masvingo provincial leadership has ordered sugar cane growing giant Tongaat Hullet to immediately surrender over 6 000 hectares of cane plantations at Triangle that will be allocated to landless people across the province.The move to order the cessation of cane plantations came after an audit revealed that the company had for years deliberately under-declared the size of its fields at Hippo Valley and Triangle to Government.

THE recent introduction of E5 mandatory blending has been described by some economic analysts as a positive step towards a subsequent reduction in the price of blended fuels including E85 that was introduced early this year and now selling at US$1,10 per litre compared to an average of US$1,50 per litre for unleaded petrol while fuel dealers feel the price is justified at US$1,10 per litre.
