Greenville pub to celebrate 'Arrogant Bar' award
2013-06-04 07:56:19| Beverages - Topix.net
<![CDATA[Beer nerds, rejoice: craft beer royalty Greg Koch, of Stone Brewing Co. in San Diego, will be appearing at Barley's Taproom in Greenville next week to award the establishment with the "2012 Most Arrogant Bar in America" award, according to the brewery. Stone Brewing Co., which was founded in 1996 and is now the tenth-largest craft brewery in the country, confers the yearly title of "Most Arrogant Bar" to the business that sells the most of the brewery's "Bastard" beers -- Arrogant Bastard Ale, OAKED Arrogant Bastard Ale, Double Bastard Ale and other special releases. The winner receives a plaque and enough specialty brews to throw a "not-so-humble" celebration. Barley's will celebrate on June 13, starting with Stone special releases and other rare beers being tapped at 4 p.m. Koch will begin his meet and greet at 7:30. Beers will be priced individually and available until the tap runs dry. Check out the events page on Barley's website for more information, including a full list of available beers and images of the celebratory T-shirts the bar will have on sale.
