(Telecompaper) Snap has unveiled a new model of its Spectacles, adding new cameras to create and view 3D images. The Spectacles 3 are available to pre-order online and will launch this fall, the company said.

(Telecompaper) The Telecompaper Stock Index global Media was down 0.7 percent in week 32, just behind the S&P 500 (-0.5%). There were some majors share price movements, mostly induced by quarterly results but also by takeovers. ComScore (-38%), The New York Times (-20%) and EW Scripps (-13%) were the weakest stocks last week. Stingray (+15%) and IAC (+7.5%) were the winners. ComScore is down a shocking 86 percent year-to-date and is exploring its strategic options. Snap still leads, up 208 percent year-to-date.
Snap adds record 13 mln users in Q2

(Telecompaper) Snap, the company behind the popular app Snapchat, reported better-than-expected results for the second quarter, with record growth in user numbers. It added 13 million new users in the quarter for a total of 203 million at the end of June.

(Telecompaper) The media sector outperformed the broader market in week 27. The Telecompaper Stock Index Global Consumer Media was up 2.8 percent for the week, outperforming the S&P 500 (+1.7%). Alphabet's 4.7 percent gain was a big factor, but the biggest winners were a number of broadcasters, including Nexstar (+9.0%), Stingray (+7.3%), Sinclair (+6.9%) and TV Asahi (+6.7%). Snap Inc's winning streak hasn't come to an end yet as the stock was up 6.5 percent last week, for a year to date gain of no less than 176 percent. Electronic Arts was the biggest loser last week, down 7.6 percent and back to levels of last May.
Prym Fashion launches sustainable snap fasteners

Fastener specialist Prym Group has launched what it claims is the world's first commercially available four-part sustainable snaps, made from recycled plastic bottles and plant-based renewable resources such as potato starch.
