Telstra half-year revenue grows nearly 6%, profit declines

(Telecompaper) Australian operator Telstra announced that its total income for the half-year ended 31 December 2017 was up 5.9 percent to AUD 14.5 billion, helped by growth in the mobile and cloud services segments, while EBITDA was down 2.5 percent to AUD 5.1 billion. Net profit declined 5.8 percent to AUD 1.7 billion, hurt by the earlier announced impairment charge of AUD 273 million to write off the remaining carrying value of Ooyala.

(Telecompaper) The demo aggregated five 20 MHz LTE carriers across three different frequency bands with each carrier using 4x4 MIMO and 256 QAM technologies. The demo aggregated 100 MHz of spectrum across the bands 1, 3 and 7, using a Netgear Nighthawk mobile router equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon X24 Category 20 LTE modem.

Telstra to lower dividend as investment accelerates

(Telecompaper) Australian operator Telstra reported total income from continuing operations of AUD 28.2 billion for financial year 2017, an increase of 4.3 percent year-on-year. EBITDA increased 2.0 percent to AUD 10.7 billion, while basic earnings per share on a reported basis increased 2.8 percent to 32.5 cents. On a guidance basis, Telstra said it increased total Income by 4.3 percent and EBITDA by 4.5 percent. Excluding the proceeds from the FY16 sale of Autohome, net profit increased 1.1 percent on a reported basis from continuing operations.
