The cost of repairing hybrids is getting cheaper, overall, for consumers with so many more of them on the road today than a few years ago. Hybrids have been getting more popular with car owners, and for dealers represent a rich market niche for sales, remarketing, and service department revenue. A new CarMD survey on repair costs around the country show that basic, simple repairs went up in cost to car owners 10% last year over 2011. However, the cost of more serious repair work, such as replacing a hybrid battery, has gone down. New Jersey had ironic findings in the survey at both ends of the scale.
