Installed directly on PL0606 and PL0312 panel lights or used to power emergency light version of TL0606 troffer light, GL-EM01F provides 90 min or more of constant-current backup illumination upon power loss. Emergency backup module, which employs 3,000 mAh Lithium Iron-Phosphate (LiFePO4) battery, installs in addition to existing LED driver and backs it up when power goes out to allow lights to function as regular and emergency lighting. Output current are customizable from 100–700 mA.

Intended for hazardous locations that require fail-safe lighting, HAL-EMG-EXT-12W-2L features integral Nickel-Cadium battery backup power supply that is protected from deep discharge by solid-state circuitry. In case of power outage, Class 1 Division 2 unit automatically switches to battery backup for 90+ min or until power is restored. When power is restored, built-in charger returns unit to fully charged state. System operates from 120–277 V and withstands temperatures from 0 to +50°C.
