Canceling early also spares travelers unnecessary trips to the airport and gives them more options to rebook, compared with cancellations that take place at the last minute.

A line of strong storms has toppled trees and downed power lines in southwestern Indiana as the first wave of an expected several days of volatile weather has hit the state. The National Weather Service is reporting multiple utility lines are down.

About 13,500 still without power following Oklahoma storms

About 13,500 power outages continue in Oklahoma after severe storms struck the state and left at least one person dead. Public Service Company of Oklahoma reported about 7,000 outages Thursday morning and Oklahoma Gas & Electric reported more than 9,400.
