The Australian share market has closed almost one per cent lower as cautious investors mull the possible fallout from the deadly terror attacks in Paris. The benchmark S&P/ASX200 recovered some of the early losses that pushed it below 5,000 points but still closed Monday down 0.94 per cent at 5,003.8 amid heavy selling among banking and resources stocks.

Commonwealth Bank of Australia fixed income quantitative strategist Philip Brown said a local bond tender was also very well received, which has driven a bid across the back end of the curve with 10- and 20-year bonds. "We're between a rock and a high place," Mr McCarthy said, adding that the ASX200 was still unable to push towards the key level of 6000 points.
