Services Upgrade Engineer for Long Term Archive and Users Services 1613165 Job Description We are looking for a Services Upgrade Engineer for our client EUMETSAT. You shall support the MME upgrade team, and work on the ground segment requirements analysis, services definitions, architectural design, requirements implementation and verification of the MME parts of future Ground Segments. The duties range from analysis and design to testing of the MME ArchiveRetrieval and User services systems. Your tasks will include Requirements analysis of programme requirements not related to the Ground Segments ITT requirements against the MMEs Generation of services definitions, compliance matrices, design justification, verification planstest cases and procedures and verification control documents Support to Analysis and evolution of current System Design to enhance the Data Access Services so as to meet programmes requirements Definition and maintenance of MME Data Access Services related Interface Control Documents ICDs Preparation of test specifications for Verifying MME Data Access services Support to Ground Segment reviews excluding access to financial data and schedule margins Support to Ground Segment Integration, Verification and Validation IVV tests for the MME Data Access services. Required Skills and Experience A University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline A minimum of five years working experience in the analysis of user requirements, software requirements, scalable software architectures, software development, testing, operations and maintenance of Data Access systems. Tasks EUMETSAT currently operates the Meteosat Transition Programme MTP, the Meteosat Second Generation MSG and the EUMETSAT Polar System EPS space and ground satellite systems. Further to this the Jason2 ground systems and a number of multimission facilities. The focus of routine operations at EUMETSAT is the provision of timely and reliable operational services to users, by effective utilisation of all elements of the space and ground systems. The EUMETSAT TSS Technical and Scientific Support Department provides in an integrated manner scientific and engineering support to EUMETSATs programmes during the development and operations phases, and process assurance project control to the whole organisation. The Data Services Engineering Team under the Generic Systems Infrastructure Division is responsible for the maintenance and evolution of all Data Access Long Term Storage services to address both the increased needs for operational systems and the added requirements for the future programmes in unified development logic. The key person shall provide support to the TSS Department GSI division Data Services Team involved within all phases of software engineering ranging from requirements analysis, design, implementation and verification validation of the software. The Long Term Archive Engineer shall perform Requirement management, design, implementation, verification validation and maintenance of EUMETSAT Long Term archive software and documentation, and related commercial off the shelf software COTS, throughout the entire software life cycle with particular focus on evolutions for new programmes Investigation of anomalies, their documentation, classification and, the development and delivery of SW correction, including the execution of relevant regression testing 2nd line support for the EUMETSAT Long Term Archive and the related communication and interaction with other teams at EUMETSAT Software configuration management, release preparation and deployment of software corrections. Essential requirements The Key person shall have the following background Software development, verificationvalidation and maintenance, using a formal life cycle Software Engineering with extensive experience in designing and developing software components and applications in the Java 1and CC programming language under UnixLinux using Object Oriented OO approach Provision of 2nd line maintenance support for operational systems Relational Databases JDBC and SQL XML, XML Schema and XSLT technologies.
