Harris Teeter shopping center in south Raleigh sells for $18.6M

Charlotte real estate developer JDH Capital has sold its stake in the Harris Teeter-anchored Kings Grant Commons shopping center in south Raleigh near the Wake Technical Community College campus on Fayetteville Road. JDH Capital sold the 69,715-square-foot center plus two outparcel buildings leased to Rite Aid and to Wendy's for $18.6 million, according to Wake County records.

The grocery-anchored Wakefield Commons shopping center in north Raleigh is going back on the market for sale - one year after the owners settled a lawsuit claiming deception in the financial stability of the property. Dallas-based Westdale Real Estate Investment and Management had only owned the Wakefield Commons property for about a week in May 2011 when Kroger, its anchor grocery tenant, announced it was closing .

Weingarten Realty Investors acquired a Wellington shopping center anchored by Whole Foods Market and three out-parcel buildings for $53.55 million. The property is just south of the Mall at Wellington Green along U.S. 441/State Road 7. The transaction was recorded in two deeds.

The longtime owners of the Whole Foods Market-anchored Ridgewood Shopping Center on Wade Avenue in Raleigh have proposed one of the biggest changes to the center since Whole Foods bought the Wellspring Grocery store there in 1991. Andrew Techet , the third-generation owner of the Ridgewood shopping center at 3514 Wade Ave., has submitted site plans with the city to redevelop part of the site that will enable him to add more retail and commercial space, as well as a six-story tall apartment building and parking deck.
