A 1.5 kW X-Band GaN Power Amplifier for Radar Application

2015-06-15 15:12:47| rfglobalnet Home Page

Solid State Power Amplifiers (SSPAs) incorporatingGaN transistors provide compact and efficient sourcesof microwave power. CPI has developed a 1.5 kWX-band SSPA, CPI model VSX3622, for radar applications. The VSX3622 SSPA combines the power fromtwo VSX3614 SSPAs, which each operate at nominally1 kW, saturated. This paper will present details ofthe design and performance data for both amplifiers.
