LSE Space is looking for an experienced Engineer mf in order to fulfill the duty of Integration and Verification Engineers mf to work in Darmstadt Germany. The core tasks of the position will be The scope of the activities is to perform Integration and Verification IV of the EUMETSAT Sentinel6JasonCS S6JCS Ground segment and System components and to contribute to their Validation. Typical activities shall cover the following tasks Preparatory activities for the Integration and Verification Analysis of VCD. For the requirements to be verified by test, analysis and inspection, ensure the scope is in line with the expected scope and configuration of the S6JCS GS tranches and that the testing activities can be scheduled within the foreseen timeframe Observation and analysis of IV activities performed as part of the GS procurements Maintenance of the existing integration and verification test specifications and generation of additional ones as needed Maintenance of existing test tools and test data, as well as development of additional test tools if necessary and the tuningmodification of test data Based on initial test specifications and other relevant documents lower level test docs, user manuals, etc write detailed test procedures By successive iterations refine the test procedures until they are in a status ready to be executed. Set up the test tools and refine the test data Analysis of problems and management of anomalies Carry out compatibility testing, in preparation for the integration activities Contribute to the integration and verification plans and support the EUMETSAT team during the project reviews in relation to the IV documentation Integration activities Scheduling and executing of integration activities in close coordination with EUMETSAT, including requesting use of common resources such as MMEs Ensuring sufficiently in advance of execution that relevant procedures, tools and data are ready to be used, performing any final tuning or setup as necessary Organising and holding, under the direction of EUMETSAT, Integration Test Readiness Reviews TRR, in which the readiness of all required elements for integration will be checked e.g. the results of compatibility testing during the preparation activities, any constraint dealt with and the final arrangements for the execution of the integration tests taken Performing the integration activities and testing according to the plans, procedures and arrangements taken in the TRR, undertaking any required analysis of the resultsissues and recording the outcome in relevant reports, and anomaly reports where necessary Organising and holding, under the direction of EUMETSAT, Integration Test Review Board meetings in which completion of the integration activities related to each block of verification activities will be assessed Supporting Anomaly Review Board ARB meetings if applicable Liaising with EUMETSAT teams and development contractors for technical issues related to the utilisation of the facilities, the communication of anomalies, the followup of their resolution and installation of patches or new releases Producing a report summarising the results of the ICD verification Verification activities Scheduling and executing verification activities and testing in close coordination with EUMETSAT Ensuring sufficiently in advance of the execution of the tests that relevant procedures, tools and data are ready to be used, performing any final tuning or setup as necessary Organising and holding, under the direction of EUMETSAT, Verification Test Readiness Reviews TRR, in which the readiness of all required elements to perform a specific set of ground segment activities will be checked, any constraint dealt with and the final arrangements for the execution of the tests taken Performing the Verification activities according to the plans, procedures and arrangements Maintaining the OGS VCD and recording the results of the tests in DOORS Organising and holding, under the direction of EUMETSAT, Verification Test Review Board TRB meetings in which completion of the verification activities related to each block of verification activities will be assessed Supporting Anomaly Review Board ARB meetings if applicable Liaising with EUMETSAT teams and service providers for technical issues related to the utilisation of the facilities, the communication of anomalies, the followup of their resolution and installation of patches or new releases Produce verification reports Essential requirements University degree in engineering e.g. space or software engineering or equivalent Up to 7 years related work experience Proven ability in IV of complex systems Requirements and verification management Structured software development and verification Software maintenance, performance monitoring ECSS standards Configuration control Ability to analyse complex situations, identify critical areas and produce accurate and concise analyses and recommendations Ability to work autonomously and plan hisher work and to cope with tight schedules and multiple tasks to achieve agreed deadlines Ability to work in a team Fluent English language skills Known Applications Satellite communications packet TMTC, PUS, SLE protocol Mission planning and control functions Satellite monitoring and control e.g. SCOS2000 Near realtime, Earth observation data processing, archiving, distribution SpecificProduct Skills Operating systems UNIXLinux and Windows Networking Internet protocols, TCPIP programming, network monitoring Automated software testing Requirements and verification management using DOORS Meteorological data formats HDF5, NetCDF, JPEG2000 Programming languages CC, Java, Javascript, XML, Perl, TclTk Relational databases MySQL, Oracle Start date as soon as possible The tasks shall be mainly carried out at the EUMETSAT headquarters in Darmstadt and occasionally at the European ground station sitesRemote Mission Control Centre site. The scope of this position is to perform integration and verification IV of the EUMETSAT S6JCS GS components and to contribute to their validation. The complete S6JCS GS will be built up progressively in several tranches with four tranche test campaigns for the S6JCS GS currently planned. Integration is performed on a pairwise approach with the interfaces between each pair of components being implemented and verified. Verification is based on a multilevel, multistage approach, with verification of requirements.
