(Telecompaper) The number of homes passed by FTTH in France increased by a record 1.13 million in the second quarter to 15.58 million. That's an increase of 32 percent year-on-year, but the roll-out needs to accelerate further, said regulator Arcep in its latest quarterly broadband report.

Spain claims biggest FTTH network in Europe with over 77% of homes passed

(Telecompaper) Spain's Ministry of Economy has published its latest annual report on broadband coverage in the country. This shows that access to at least 100 Mbps improved by 5 percent points in the year to June 2018, to 81 percent of the population, while 85 percent have access to at least 30 Mbps. The government aims to increase these rates to respectively 89 percent and 98 percent by 2020 with the help of its ongoing subsidy programmes.

On February 20, 2019, City Council passed a fee increase ordinance that was presented by representatives of the BDS Land Use Services Division, the first in nearly five years. The division processes permits and land use reviews required to demonstrate compliance with the Portland Zoning Code, Tree Code and Sign Code regulations.

Dutch FTTH market to add another 285,000 homes passed, as investor interest grows

(Telecompaper) Around one in three Dutch households (36%) had access to fibre at the end of September, according to data from the Telecompaper FTTH Monitor. This level is expected to reach almost 40 percent over the coming years, backed by increased interest from foreign investors in the FTTH roll-out. Antin (Eurofiber), EQT (Delta, CIF), Arcus (E-Fiber) and Ancala (Fore Freedom) have become active in the field, and L2Fiber Rotterdam has also found a potential investor in Highland Group Holdings, which wants to put money in the fibre market.
