Tele2 cuts FY capex guidance after network audit as Q3 profit improves on flat revenue

(Telecompaper) Tele2 Group said net profit from total operations almost doubled in the third quarter, driven by the Com Hem merger in Sweden, with underlying EBITDA up by 5 percent on an organic basis excluding IFRS 16. Revenue and end-user service revenue were flat year on year. It has lowered its capital expenditure guidance range for the year and is on track to fulfil its other FY guidance.

(Telecompaper) Last week saw Cellnex agree a major takeover, while Vodafone kicked off a cost savings program and KPN potentially made a big shift in its commercial strategy. Overall, the European telecoms services sector performed well, as per our related index, which was up 2.1 percent in week 41. Still, this was significantly behind the EuroStoxx 50's sharp 3.6 percent rise. Forthnet (+16%) and Go Internet (-9.8%) were the micro cap outliers. BT's gain of 12 percent was the biggest large cap leap.
