Monsanto Co on Tuesday confirmed earlier guidance that its fiscal first quarter 2016 is expected to show an earnings-per-share loss in the 23-to-33 cent range, amid continued pricing weakness in glyphosate, fewer South American corn acres being planted and restructuring costs. Monsanto to Mexico honey farmers: Our soya seeds not to blame for woes

Monsanto Co on Friday denied that plantings of its genetically modified soybeans have impacted bees, led to deforestation or caused damage to the honey production industry in two Mexican states. Mexico's Supreme Court on Wednesday blocked a move to allow the planting of genetically modified soya seeds in the southern Mexican states of Campeche and Yucatan, arguing that indigenous communities that had fought the move should be consulted before it was approved.

Monsanto Co's Climate Corp will sell its Precision Planting farm equipment business to Deere & Co for an undisclosed sum, a move that underscores how turmoil in the agriculture sector has made it ripe for consolidation. For Climate, a unit of the world's largest seed company, the deal marks the latest push to shed businesses that are not focused on either software or services, Climate President Mike Stern said.
