LG G5 first-day sales in S. Korea top 15,000 units

LG Electronics Inc., the second-largest consumer electronics manufacturer in South Korea, sold more than 15,000 units of its new flagship G5 smartphone on the first day of its launch in that country. This is three times more than the sales volume of its precedent G4 model on its first day, hinting a possible turnaround in the electronics giant's mobile communication business that has been struggling for years due to a lack of hit products.
