Dutch mobile market limits revenue fall to 1.4% in Q1 on strong T-Mobile growth

(Telecompaper) Mobile service revenues totaled EUR 903 million in the first quarter, according to the Telecompaper quarterly Dutch Mobile Operators report. Vodafone showed the biggest decline, down 5.1 percent, and KPN's service revenues fell 4.4 percent year-on-year. T-Mobile outperformed and grew 6.9 percent, thanks to a strong increase in customer numbers in both the consumer and business segments.

T-Mobile leads modest growth in Dutch broadband subscribers in Q1, KPN losses continue

(Telecompaper) KPN continues to suffer in the consumer market, where it has discontinued sales to new customers at its Telfort and XS4All brands in order to promote more premium offers under the KPN flag. This includes the launch of its first gigabit broadband service in March across its expanding FTTH network. KPN still lost 23,000 consumer broadband customers in the quarter, while gaining 8,000 in the B2B segment. In total, KPN had almost 3.15 million broadband customers at the end of March.

Softbank in talks to sell T-Mobile shares to Deutsche Telekom - report

(Telecompaper) Softbank is in talks with Deutsche Telekom to sell a portion of its stake in T-Mobile US, the Wall Street Journal reports citing people familiar with the matter. Deutsche Telekom would raise its stake in T-Mobile to over 50 percent from the current 44 percent if the transaction were finalised. Telekom already has voting control of T-Mobile under a prior agreement with SoftBank, which recently held almost 25 percent of T-Mobile's common stock, according to FactSet.
