Large Duke Energy investor to divest shares over coal

The Norwegian Government Pension Fund Global, the world's largest sovereign wealth fund, is set to divest all its shares of Duke Energy Corp. and other major coal-burning power companies, according to published reports. The recommendation asks the government to exclude companies deriving more than 30 percent of their revenue or their power production from coal, 350.org reports.

The Reedy Creek Improvement District Board of Supervisors voted to accept a 15-year power-purchase agreement with Duke Energy Florida Solar Solutions LLC, a subsidiary of Duke Energy Florida, to purchase solar energy from the facility.
