Vodafone confirms takeover of Cyta Hellas for EUR 118 million

(Telecompaper) Cyprus operator Cyta announced that Vodafone won the auction to acquire 100 percent of its Greek subsidiary, Cyta Hellas. Vodafone confirmed an agreement to buy the company for an enterprise value of EUR 118 million. The takeover still needs the approval of Greek regulator EETT.

Wind Hellas, Vodafone Greece to partner on fibre networks

(Telecompaper) Wind Hellas entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Vodafone Greece to cooperate on the implementation and use of fixed fibre infrastructure. The shared network infrastructure will provide Greek consumers with broadband access services, contributing substantially to the Digital Agenda 2020 national targets, the companies said. Having invested nearly EUR 3 billion to create telecommunications infrastructure from its inception until today, Wind Hellas said that in recent years it focused its investments in new mobile and fixed networks (4G / 4G +, VDSL, FTTx) which offer very high data rates and high capacity. A pilot of fibre optic infrastructure (Fiber to the Building) is currently running in the Athens region.
