Despite my concerns, I continue to read marketing strategists who are urging producers to store grain at harvest and wait for better prices. Be stubborn! I disagree because I think the odds of a large price rise in the first-half of 2015 are small. The burden is on me to explain my outlook. read more

National homebuilder to launch gated community in Spring Branch

The Los Angeles-based national homebuilder will construct 44 single-family homes at Hollister Commons, located in Spring Branch, near I-10 and Highway 290. The 3.7-acre community is expected to open in summer 2015.

Donations sought for art auction in Spring Grove

Glatfelter Memorial Library, 101 Glenview Road, Spring Grove, is accepting donations of art from local artisans for a silent auction to be held Oct. 1 to Nov. 29. The art will be set in display cases with bid books featuring information about the artists and the items. Bids can be written in the book, and bidders can check back often to keep their bids on top.
