The Portland Society for Calligraphy presents its annual member show, Found in a Book. While calligraphy has many functional uses, the work in this show expresses an artistic reaction to a passage from a book. Members of the society will be exhibiting a wide variety of calligraphy-based artwork that plays with that theme. Each choice of script, color, size, layout, and design was made to help express that artist's reaction to a piece of writing.
