ZRTPCPP, an open source library that's used by several applications offering end-to-end encrypted phone calls, contained three vulnerabilities that could have enabled arbitrary code execution and denial-of-service attacks, according to researchers from security firm Azimuth Security. ZRTPCPP is a C++ implementation of the ZRTP cryptographic key agreement protocol for VoIP (voice over IP) communications designed by PGP creator Phil Zimmermann.

A critical vulnerability that could allow remote attackers to access sensitive enterprise log-in credentials and other data was fixed last week in Crowd, a single sign-on (SSO) and identity management tool used by large organizations to simplify access to their internal Web applications and services.

Pseudorabies Still Found in Feral Swine

Source: American Association of Swine Veterinarians Scientists, in the July 2013 Journal of Wildlife Diseases, reporting on a three-study of pseudorabies in feral swine, found that the disease appears to be widespread in the wild, according to a newsletter report by the American Association of Swine Veterinarians. Pseudorabies can afflict a wide range of mammals and avian hosts. But swine are the only natural hosts of the virus. read more
