USDA data shows thousands of jobs coming in agriculture industry

According to new data from the USDA there will be 57,900 annual job openings in food, agriculture, renewable natural resources, and environment fields between 2015 and 2020. "It's good news for our students and graduates," said Mike Gaul, director of Iowa State University's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.

Agriculture industry staying strong despite the drought: County...

Although the fourth year of California's historic drought is continuing to hit local farmers and nursery workers hard, the 2014 San Mateo County Agricultural Crop Report shows production values slightly increased to boast a nearly $152 million industry. The 5.9 percent increase since 2013 is primarily due to floral and nursery crops grown indoors, a major commodity in the county that was valued at $94.5 million, according to the report.
