Xbox Ones June software update gives developers 10% more GPU power

Now that Redmond is effectively ditching the Kinect, game devs can finally take advantage of the 10% of the GPU that was once dedicated to the peripheral. This won't magically enable all titles to run at 1080p at 60Hz, but it will help narrow the performance gap between the Xbox One and PS4.

Intel partners with Samsung to halve the price of 4K monitors, but its useless without support from GPU vendors and Microsoft

Intel wants to push Samsung and other vendors to dramatically cut the price of 4K panels and AIOs, but the company is targeting the wrong screen size for the effort. 24-inch panels are simply too small for 4x the resolution -- and if you have to scale software upwards by 2-4x, you lose the advantages of the effect.

Qualcomm has finally taken the wraps off the Snapdragon 805 SoC. The Snapdragon 805 is the mobile industry's last great hurrah for the aging 32-bit ARMv7 architecture, and also Qualcomm's Krait CPU swan song.
