Vimeo acquires OTT SVoD platform VHX

(Telecompaper) Video-sharing website Vimeo has acquired OTT subscription platform VHX for an undisclosed amount. Vimeo said that with the addition of VHX, it now offers a complete streaming ecosystem for individual creators, niche programmers and major media partners to offer SVoD channels. Vimeo customers can now launch branded SVoD channels across websites, mobile and TV apps. VHX co-founder and CEO Jamie Wilkinson will report to Vimeo CEO Kerry Trainor.

Fullscreen to launch SVOD service on April 26

SVoD services account for 5% of Dutch daily video use

(Telecompaper) Dutch consumers devote on average 5 percent of their daily video viewing to subscription VoD services. That's equal to around 15 minutes per day, according to the Dutch Consumer Video Behaviour report from Telecompaper. SVoD (subscription video on demand) services offer unlimited access to an on-demand video library for a fixed monthly fee.

'hayu' SVOD service to launch in UK, Ireland and Australia
