Based on input from auto manufactures, refiners, and states, U.S. EPA standards for cars and gasoline will reduce harmful pollution while also enabling efficiency improvements in cars and trucks. Measures include reducing smog-forming VOCs and nitrogen oxides by 80%, establishing 70% tighter particulate matter standard, and reducing fuel vapor emissions to near zero.
