Cirrus Logic posts lower Q2 profits, higher revenue

The Austin-based company posted a quarterly profit of $852 million, or 1 cent per share, on revenue of $210.2 million compared with a profit of $1 billion, or 16 cents per share, on revenue of $152.5 million during the same period last year. On a non-GAAP basis, Cirrus Logic reported earnings of 68 cents per share versus analysts' estimates of 54 cents per share.

Nutrition profits jump 23% in mixed DuPont Q3 results

DuPont is reaping the benefit of its a 5bn 2011 acquisition of Danish proteins, probiotics, flavours, colours and enzymes giant Danisco, with its nutrition and health division showing 23% profit growth in a "sluggish" world market. "T his was another strong quarter for our Nutrition & Health segment," said VP of investor relations, Greg Friedman, in a conference call on the Q3 results for the chemicals giant.
