Riverview Force Main Sewer Replacement Project Update
2015-02-23 22:19:57| PortlandOnline
Environmental Services is planning a project on Highway 43 to replace an aging sewer main that carries wastewater from the Riverview Pump Station. The project will replace roughly 3,000 feet of failing sewer pipe along Highway 43 from the Riverview Pump Station south to SW Riverwood Road. The pipe has experienced several failures in recent years, and this project will install a new pipe and reduce the potential for future leaks or breaks.

The Environmental Integrity Project; Humane Society of the United States; Center for Food Safety; Center on Race, Poverty & the Environment; Friends of the Earth; Sierra Club; and groups from Wisconsin, California and Iowa who claim nearby animal operations have caused them to have breathing problems filed two lawsuits against the EPA in late January.
