In most countries around the world, 5G is still very much in its infancy. With limited deployments, often heavily supported by existing 4G spectrum, only a very small number of customers get to enjoy the blisteringly fast speeds that are being so vaunted by 5G proponents. Nonetheless, 2020 saw 5G deployment scale up rapidly. According to the GSA, there are already 122 active commercial 5G networks in 49 countries, while almost 300 operators are investing in 5G. You will contribute to the ongoing development of the European satellite navigation systems in the field of system engineering, performance and new services architecture. You will work with the Airbus Navigation Department at the Airbus site Taufkirchen near Munich. With more than 80 engineers and 20 years of experience it is one of the leading expert groups in Europe for the development and implementation of the European satellite navigation systems EGNOS and Galileo. Tasks and Responsibilities Contribute to the development of system concepts for navigation service evolutions Management of performance assessment and system modeling Contribution to service concepts for robust positioning by integrity and authentication Analysis of system requirements and reflection into system design Development of software prototypes to test and tradeoff concepts and algorithms Data processing based on available Airbus evaluation software. Requirements Master diploma in Mathematics Physics Aeronautics and Astronautics or Geodesy German at least business fluent is an asset English at least business fluent Demonstrated experience in satellite navigation systems, in particular GPS, EGNOS or Galileo Sound mathematical background for algorithm development is a plus Experience with Python, alternatively C or Matlab Good overview on satellite navigation concepts at system and user level with specialization in one particularly related field is required Understanding of requirements flowdown into system design and system engineering cycles is required A Person with good interpersonal and very good verbal and written communication skills A person which works autonomously and shall be able to analyse complex technical problems.
