Nokia revamps music streaming service as MixRadio
2013-11-21 11:20:00| Telecompaper Headlines
(Telecompaper) Nokia has updated its streaming music service with a new design and new features. After the launch of the Nokia Music streaming service in 2011, the company now introduces Nokia MixRadio with Play Me, initially available in 31 countries. The free service learns from listening habits to deliver users a personalised radio station. Users are encouraged to give a 'thumbs up' or 'thumbs down' to tracks they listen to and pick their favourite artists. The service uses this information to develop a personalised stream of tracks, accessible by pushing the new 'Play Me' button. The service also offers expert and celebrity curated mixes. Nile Rodgers, the producer behind bands such as Chic and Daft Punk, attended the launch of the service in New York to present his own mixes for the service. Other features of Nokia MixRadio include the ability to share up to three tracks of a mix via SMS or social networks over the MixSharing feature and the possibility of saving a mix for listening offline. Nokia MixRadio with Play Me is available to Nokia Lumia owners, with no advertising and no subscription required.
