U.S. District Judge Alvin Hellerstein in Manhattan ordered Time Warner Cable Inc. to make the $229,500 payment to Araceli King of Irving, Texas, citing the New York-based company's “particularly egregious" behavior as it violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act of 1991. Hellerstein said he tripled the $1,500 penalty for each call because Time Warner's actions were “particularly egregious" since it continued making the calls even after King complained in a seven-minute phone conversation in Oct. 2013 with a company representative that the calls to her phone were apparently meant for a customer she did not know.

Police: Woman pulled knife on teens at Taco Bell because wifi wasn't working

Police told FOX23 that Amber Henson was initially agitated because the restaurant's Wi-Fi wasn't working. The teens called police after the knife was pulled.

Woman killed by train in Hinckley ID'd

The Pine County sheriff's office reported that Erin Story, 36, of Hinckley, died after being hit by the southbound Canadian Pacific Railway train at about 12:30 a.m. at the East Main Street railroad crossing. The crossing is marked with signals and crossing arms that appeared to be functioning correctly, the sheriff's office reported.

A 27-year-old D'Iberville woman injured in a head-on collision is now breathing on her own. Friends of Bethanie Jones said she has been taken off a ventilator, she is responding and getting stronger.

Time Warner Cable Inc must pay the insurance claims specialist $229,500 for placing 153 automated calls meant for someone else to her cellphone in less than a year, even after she told it to stop, a Manhattan federal judge ruled on Tuesday. King, of Irving, Texas, accused Time Warner Cable of harassing her by leaving messages for Luiz Perez, who once held her cellphone number, even after she made clear who she was in a seven-minute discussion with a company representative.
