Steam Blows Off Aggrieved Indie Dev

Independent video game developer Digital Homicide Studios on Monday posted a response to its ban from Valve's digital distribution platform Steam. Valve banned the development studio this weekend, after Digital Homicide reportedly initiated legal action against 100 users who had posted negative reviews of its games. Digital Homicide accused the users of cyberbullying and other offenses.

Between a stacked lineup at The Stone Pony's outdoor Summer Stage and a few new, outside-the-box festivals slated around the city, tens of thousands of rock, pop, funk and punk fans will flood the bustling beachfront as the weather warms. The largest, and most recent addition to the Asbury schedule is the New Alternative Music Festival, a three-day event in historic - and quite weathered - Convention Hall hosted by New Brunswick-based Don Giovanni Records.

A Morgan Stanley advisor with more than $570 million in client assets has gone independent with Steward Partners, the firm said. Eric Beiley joined the Raymond James affiliated-firm started by former wirehouse advisors as a founding partner, according a statement from Steward Partners.
