Motorola unveils sub-EUR 350 Moto G 5G Plus

(Telecompaper) Motorola has announced the launch of the first 5G-enabled smartphone in its Moto G mid-range lineup. The Moto G 5G Plus follows the launch of the company's flagship Motorola Edge+ earlier this year and, like that device, features a 6.7-inch display with a 90Hz screen refresh rate. It also comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 processor found in the regular Edge model, with an integrated X52 5G modem supporting sub-6GHz 5G, and will be available in two versions. The first costs EUR 349 for 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage, and the second EUR 399 for 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage.

(Telecompaper) Motorola is celebrating 100 million Moto G smartphones sold around the world with the introduction of two new devices in the US and Canada, the Moto G Stylus and Moto G Power. Both feature Android 10, a 6.4-inch Max Vision display, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 octa-core processor, 4 GB of RAM, dual stereo speakers and selfie cameras with Quad Pixel technology.

Motorola launches new flagship Moto Z4 smartphone

(Telecompaper) Motorola has unveiled its latest flagship smartphone, the Moto Z4. The same as its predecessor the Z3, the phone can be turned into a 5G device with a clip-on 5G modem mod. The device also comes with an improved camera and battery life, in-display fingerprint reader and bigger screen. It will launch first in the US, for USD 500.

Lenovo FY profits up strongly as Moto business turns around

(Telecompaper) Lenovo reported a strong improvement in profits for the year to March, driven by cost-cutting and a return to profit at its mobile activities in the second half of the year. Revenues rose 12.5 percent to a record USD 51.0 billion, operating profit tripled to USD 1.2 billion, and the net profit rose to USD 597 million from USD 33 million a year ago. Lenovo proposed a final dividend of HKD 0.218, up from HKD 0.205 a year ago.

Verizon starts pre-sales of 5G moto mod, plans USD 10 charge for unlimited 5G data

(Telecompaper) Verizon announced that it will start pre-sales of the 5G Moto Mod from 14 March. First announced last year, the mod clips on to the Moto Z3 smartphone to make it work over 5G networks. The launch comes as Verizon prepares to start 5G mobile services in the first half of 2019, with Chicago and Minneapolis announced as the first cities for the service.
