Making Differential Measurements With Copper Mountain Technologies VNAs

2016-05-09 17:56:44| rfglobalnet Downloads

Balanced electrical circuits are designed with at least three ports, or more commonly four ports, as is standard for a simple differential transmission line. Many engineers prefer to perform differential measurements with 4-port instruments when characterizing electrical properties such as insertion loss and return loss, and S-parameters such as transmission and the reflection of single-ended, common-mode, and differential-mode signals. This application note gives a brief introduction on balanced and differential circuits and provides a demonstration of such measurements on a common-mode filter through the use of split-ring resonators.

Differential pH/ORP Sensors use 3 electrodes for max accuracy.

2016-03-10 14:31:07| Industrial Newsroom - All News for Today

Available for industrial and municipal water treatment operators, SD7000CD and SD7000CD-ORP offer chemically-resistant direct replacement options for Hach®/GLI and Water Analytics/Aquametrix analog 5-wire pH and ORP sensor models. Solution pH is measured differentially with process and inner reference (surrounded by known concentrated pH 7 buffer) electrodes compared to third ground electrode. This minimizes reference junction potential and eliminates sensor ground loop effects.

High Speed Differential ADC Driver Design Considerations

2016-02-22 10:18:50| rfglobalnet Downloads

Many modern analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) use differential inputs to reject common-mode noise and interference, increase dynamic range, and improve the overall performance. Although ADCs with differential inputs can accept single-ended input signals, optimum ADC performance is reached when the input signal is differential. As a result, differential ADC drivers have become essential signal conditioning elements in data acquisitioning systems. This application note presents many different design considerations for differential ADC drivers such as the input common-mode voltage range, input and output coupling, output swing, and harmonic distortion.

Digital Differential Pressure Sensor measures 5 x 8 x 5 mm.

2016-02-09 14:31:05| Industrial Newsroom - All News for Today

Sized to enhance integration and application possibilities, SDP3x series measures differential pressure (DP) and is also suited for measuring mass flow in bypass configuration. Fully calibrated and temperature-compensated sensors are reflow solderable and include various digital functions. While SDP31 is digital with I²C interface and SDP36 has analog output signal, both are manufactured with CMOSens® chips, exhibit long-term stability, and measure bi-directional flow range up to 500 Pa.
