Raley's closing two more California stores - one in San Jose

In addition to a local closure confirmed last week, Raley's Family of Fine Stores is closing two stores, one in San Jose. A Nob Hill Foods at 7076 Santa Teresa Blvd. in San Jose will close next week and a Raley's store in Newark is scheduled to close on Aug. 1, the Sacramento-based grocer confirmed Thursday.

Gap plans to close 175 of its namesake stores and 250 jobs at its headquarters as the company tries to strengthen the struggling brand. Gap Inc., which owns Gap, Old Navy and Banana Republic, said Monday it will close about 140 Gap stores in North America in the fiscal year that ends Jan. 31 - and the remainder afterward - based on factors that include location and performance.
