Police say a municipal parking authority worker was killed when he was hit by a tow truck backing up in a south Philadelphia lot. Officials say the Philadelphia Parking Authority employee was pinned under the truck after he was struck shortly before 7 a.m. Wednesday.

A 55-year-old woman's black BMW was struck by a New Jersey Transit train near the Plauderville train station after she allegedly drove around lowered warning gates blocking the Midland Avenue crossing, authorities said. Randa Sayegh, a 55-year-old Yonkers resident, was issued a summons by New Jersey Transit police for disregarding the lowered crossing gates at approximately 1 a.m. Sunday, New Jersey Transit spokesperson Nancy Snyder said.

Authorities have released the name of a woman killed when she was struck by a New Jersey Transit train in Monmouth County. But it's still not clear why the woman was on the tracks when the accident occurred Friday night in Long Branch.
