Greener Cleanup Standard Approved by ASTM International Environmental Assessment Committee

On September 15, ASTM International Subcommittee E50.04 on Corrective Action approved new standard on applying greener best management practices to site assessment and cleanup projects: ASTM E2893, Guide for Greener Cleanups. This standard, according to E50 member John Simon, will "enable environmental professionals to assess greener best management practices in a systematic fashion and then prioritize and select the BMPs to apply during a project." New ASTM Resilient Floor Covering Standard Specifies Cork Floor Tile Requirements

ASTM F3008, Specification for Cork Floor Tile, specifies requirements for cork floor coverings that are made from agglomerated composition cork supplied in tile form and designed to for use with factory finish, in-situ finish, or both. ASTM WK37414, Test Method for Flammability and Resistance of Eaves and Horizontal Projections to Fire Penetration, is being developed by Subcommittee E05.14 on External Fire Exposures. Standard will cover measurement of relative fire characteristics of exposed underside of both open and closed projections, such as horizontal soffits and extended open roof eaves, floor projections, and exposed under-floor areas to direct flame impingement from simulated fire originating outside building.
