There was a time not so long ago when shopping for a new car or truck automatically meant a cruise down the south end of Abercorn where dealerships dotted the landscape for miles. While some longtime dealers were still holding on to their original locations away from Abercorn Street, they had become few and far Backus Cadillac/Pontiac remained on East Victory Drive, where it had been for more than half a century until it closed in 2009.

Chatham School District concludes its annual holiday concert series

The School District of the Chathams recently concluded its annual Holiday concert series, with twenty-three outstanding performances at all grade levels between Dec. 2 and 23. Milton, Southern, and Washington Avenue School Music teachers Tracy Roskam and Veronica Shaw's first, second, and third grade chorus and chimes ensembles warmed the hearts of capacity crowds with their performances. Third graders who are enrolled in the district PTO enrichment program for String Orchestra also made their debut performances.

Chatham Borough Accepts Land Donation for Passaic River Trail; Train...

The Borough of Chatham Council adopted an ordinance on Monday night, accepting the donation of a slice of land along the Passaic River that will be used to make a walking trail. Tom Luciano , owner of the Commerce Street Association, has donated the 1.17 acre piece of land appraised at $468,00.
