(Telecompaper) Japanese mobile operator SoftBank added 270,700 net new customers in September to end the month with a total of 34.07 million mobile subscribers, according to figures from the Telecommunications Carriers Association. KDDI secured 232,700 new customers to bring its total to 39.05 million while NTT Docomo lost 66,800 customers in September to end the month with 61.77 million subscribers. PHS services provider Willcom gained 41,500 new customers to end September with 5.31 million. Wimax services provider UQ Communications ended the month with 4.28 million customers as it attracted 10,200 new subscribers and Wireless City Planning added 174,800 new customers to bring its total to 2.08 million wireless broadband users.
