ASTM International Nanoparticle Committee Approves Standards for Tracking and Measurement

Two new standards developed by ASTM International Committee E56 on Nanotechnology will assist various users in aspects of nanomaterial measurement: ASTM E2834, Guide for Measurement of Particle Size Distribution of Nanomaterials in Suspension by Nanoparticle Tracking Analysis (NTA), and ASTM E2859, Guide for Size Measurement of Nanoparticles Using Atomic Force Microscopy. ASTM F2986, Specification for Corrugated Polyethylene Pipe and Fittings for Mine Leachate Applications, fills need for standard covering strong plastic piping systems that can be used in harsh environment of underground mine leachate systems. Described in ASTM F2986, leachate pipe is designed for deep underground use under harsh chemical exposure from corrosive acid or alkaline effluent.
