School boards should have say on boundaries

As a resident of a "Win-Win" neighborhood , I applaud the Dispatc h editorial board for acknowledging the need for more permanent, stable school-district boundaries . A proposed amendment by state Rep. Mike Duffey, R-Worthington, to give local school boards the right to approve or deny any proposed boundary changes makes a lot of sense.

Women have small presence on boards of Jacksonville companies

Women hold just 9.7 percent of seats on the boards of directors of publicly-traded Jacksonville companies, according to SEC filings and the companies' websites. That's about half the national average of 19.2 percent, according to a 2014 study by Catalyst, a nonprofit that studies gender equality and looked at companies on the S&P 500 stock index.
