IChemE Introduces New Academic Journal

Sustainable Production and Consumption (SPC), a new academic journal from the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE), in partnership with Elsevier, will launch in 2015 and focus on the importance of sustainability in sectors as diverse as retail, tourism, transport, health, food, energy, construction and the chemical and process industries.

The Wall Street Journal: Coca-Cola Enterprises warns of currency impacts next year

Excluding currency fluctuations, the company is expecting its per-share earnings to grow 6% to 8%. For its current year, the company said it expects per-share earnings to grow 10%, while net sales are expected to be essentially flat.

The Federal Communications Commission is preparing to fine Sprint Corp. a record $105 million over allegations the company charged consumers for unwanted text message alerts and other services. for billing customers for text message alerts, horoscopes, sports scores, ring tones and other unwanted services-a practice known as cramming.

FCC approves Journal, Scripps merger

The Federal Communications Commission has approved a transfer of the Journal's radio and TV broadcast licenses to the E.W. Scripps Company of Cincinnati. That's part of a move announced in late July to merge the two companies' broadcast and digital products under the Scripps banner.

The Wall Street Journal: Charges filed in Brazil over alleged bid to bribe Petrobras

Brazilian prosecutors on Thursday filed charges against 36 suspects in a corruption investigation alleging construction companies bribed public officials and overbilled state-controlled energy giant Petroleo Brasileiro SA Among those charged were 23 executives from six of the biggest construction companies in Brazil: Camargo CorrAaa SA, Engevix, GalvA o Engenharia, Mendes JAonior, OAS and UTC Engenharia SA. Also among them were Paulo Roberto Costa, the former director of Petrobras' refining division, and Alberto Youssef, an alleged black-market currency dealer who is accused of distributing the bribe payments.
