Chevron in talks for LNG supplies to China

Energy giant Chevron has signed a preliminary agreement with China's ENN LNG Trading company to supply liquefied natural gas from its Gorgon LNG project in Western Australia. US-listed Chevron, which is building the Gorgon project and is its operator, said that once the deal is finalised it expects to supply ENN with up to half a million tonnes of LNG per annum over 10 years, starting in 2018.

Tech giant Samsung Electronics Co Ltd held talks with General Electric Co about buying the U.S. company's appliances businesses but negotiations broke down on antitrust issues, South Korea's Yonhap News agency reported on Saturday. The report said Samsung initiated the talks after General Electric walked away from a deal with Electrolux AB due to opposition from U.S. antitrust regulators.
