Your Job The Senior Spacecraft Engineer specialized in the Payload subsystem, with specific scope within the SES MEO constellation fleet. The team is in charge of MEO Payload Engineering, spacecraft inorbit operations and performance monitoring, as well as support to spacecraft planning, design and procurement. Your Responsibilities Support MEO payload mission and operations. Support Launch, LEOP, Payload IOT and transition phasing of MEO satellites into constellation for Start of Service. Maximize satellite and constellation fleet availability and longevity Monitor health status and provide oncall support for satellites in operation, including recovery and followup of eventual spacecraft offlimit conditions, anomalies and service interruptions Support tool and procedure development of payload mission for MEO constellation current and future mPower Develop and maintain tools for evaluating and trending payload and constellation performance Support the design and procurement of new satellites, including MEO mPower constellation, for spacecraft design reviews, integration, ground and inorbit testing. Act as Payload Operations interface for platform systems, sales engineering, ground operations and systems architecture and engineering teams. Support endtoend design solutions. Requires a thorough understanding of endtoend communications link budgets Support spacecraft anomalies and contingency operations, including new operational solutions, for contingency operations at spacecraft and constellationlevel Your Profile Bachelors degree in Engineering Masters degree preferred, with a specialization in Radio Frequency telecommunications. Previous exposure to digital payload technology and operation is considered a strong asset e.g. digital transparent processor Minimum 2 years for Senior 7 years of industryrelated experience New graduates considered for nonsenior position Have a thorough understanding of the satellite payload subsystems, including the management all the equipment on board of the spacecraft that is required for proper transmission of the customer signal Have a strong sense of initiative and a selfstarter attitude Ability to adapt to fastpaced or custom situations with innovative and effective solutions Ability to effectively respond to and interact with all levels of organizational staff Have a sound theoretical knowledge, and be eager to implement it in a practical environment Have strong analytical and problemsolving skills Have strong computer software skills. Programming skills and familiarity with python, xml, CC, or Matlab are a plus Be able to provide 247 oncall support, react to contingencies and cope with high stress situations Have strong communication skills, both written and oral, and teamspirit Be willing to integrate into an international environment We Offer You A diverse workplace. We are urgently seeking candidates to fill roles in AIT engineering with an RF specialisation Essential Skills 2 years experience in test and integration of RF front end systems for high reliability systems aviation or aerospace systems. Experience with test equipment Network, Spectrum Analysers or RF SCOEs. Experience with digital modulations, Transponder and Amplifier RF Hardware. Proactive with proven communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationship. To identify the need for new measurement methods where procedures do not cover the exact nature of testing being carried out. To prepare test reports as laid down in procedures. Desirable Skills Software Programming C, Java, Elisa Experience with ground station HW and operation. A good theoretical andor practical knowledge of electronic systems design Experience with TTC systems, space modulations and high datarate links. Experience with waveguide and coaxial components.
