Huawei posts revenues up 13% in H1 after better Q2

(Telecompaper) Huawei announced revenues of CNY 454 billion for the first half of 2020, up 13.1 percent from a year earlier. The figures suggest a strong recovery in the second quarter, after the company earlier reported only 1.4 percent growth in Q1. The company said its net profit margin was 9.2 percent in the first half, compared to 7.3 percent reported for Q1.

After a tumultuous year, Huawei’s future in the UK has finally been decided. Today, the UK government has announced that Huawei is to be banned from supplying new 5G equipment at the end of the year. Telcos will also be forced to remove existing 5G equipment from their networks by 2027. However, existing 2G, 3G, and 4G equipment will not be required to be removed, since these have been deemed secure. The complete removal of Huawei from the UK’s 5G infrastructure is an enormous task.
