(Telecompaper) China Telecom reported net profit for 2018 up 13.9 percent to CNY 21.2 billion, supported by its strong growth in the mobile market. Revenues rose 3.0 percent to CNY 377.1 billion, and EBITDA increased 2.0 percent to CNY 104.2 billion, for a slight fall in the margin to 29.7 percent.

(Telecompaper) China Telecom reported first-half revenues up 4.7 percent year-on-year to CNY 193 billion. Service revenue was up 7.0 percent to CNY 177.6 billion and would have risen 8.5 percent without the impact of new accounting rules, the company said.
Telecom Egypt Q2 net profit jumps on Vodafone dividend

(Telecompaper) Telecom Egypt (TE) reported a 175 percent increase in net profit to EGP 1.04 billion for the second quarter ended 30 June from EGP 378 million in the same period 2015. The operator attributed the growth to higher revenues, and an increase in income from investments, primarily attributable to Vodafone Egypt.

A top AT&T executive is concerned that the FCC's new net neutrality rules, which are now being challenged in court, create an ongoing air of uncertainty for all members of the telecommunications industry ecosystem. Speaking to investors during the UBS 43rd Annual Global Media and Communications Conference, Randall Stephenson, chairman and CEO of AT&T, said the various rulings and challenges on the FCC's order will likely not be entirely sorted out until 2017.
