Approved death claims related to GM ignition switch recall rise to 100

The number of approved death compensation claims related to a recall of a faulty General Motors ignition switch has risen to 100, compared to a total of 97 one week earlier. The claims were approved by a fund set up by GM to compensate victims of a defective part in mid-to-late-2000s model cars that has led to a massive recall and a federal investigation.

BIO Claims RFS Policy Instability has chilled biofuel investments.

According to BIO's Brent Erickson, EPA rulemaking delays generated Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) program instability and "intolerable investment uncertainty." Erickson claimed policy instability responsible for "chilling" up to $13.7 billion worth of investments needed by advanced biofuel industry to build capacity to meet RFS goals. As cited, heaviest impact was on cellulosic biofuel developers. Other effects included undercutting new employment opportunities and loss of 80,000+ direct jobs.

Cardinal Health Agrees to Settle Monopolization Claims

The Federal Trade Commission announced on April 20, 2015 that it had entered into a stipulated consent order with Cardinal Health, Inc. . The Order, which is pending court approval, requires Cardinal to pay $26.8 million to settle the FTC's claim that Cardinal monopolized the sale of radiopharmaceuticals to hospitals and clinics in 25 markets nationwide.
