Southwest Ventilation Project Update: July 31, 2015

Construction has progressed to SW Virginia Avenue from SW Taylors Ferry Road in an Environmental Services project to reduce sewer odors and increase the capacity of the Southwest Parallel Interceptor sewer system. The project is designed to accommodate current needs and potential growth. Since February, the contractor has installed about 1,000 feet of 24-inch concrete pipe and 6 manholes along SW Taylors Ferry Road.

South Ash Creek Stream Enhancement Project Update July 28, 2016

Environmental Services is working with Portland Parks & Recreation to design and construct a stream enhancement project in the Ash Creek Natural Area/Taylors Woods portion of Dickinson Park. The project will stabilize the stream channel, improve in-stream habitat at key locations and protect sewer infrastructure. The city will restore native plants in areas disturbed during construction and throughout the Ash Creek Natural Area. Construction is scheduled to start this summer.

Sellwood-Moreland Sewer Rehab Project Construction Update: July 22, 2015

Environmental Services is repairing or replacing about 25,000 feet of public sewer pipes in the Sellwood-Moreland neighborhood that are between 80 and 100 years old and failing due to age. This project will help protect the public and the environment by reducing the possibility of costly breaks, leaks, blockages and sewage releases to homes, businesses and streets.
