Balch Conduit Support Sewer Replacement Project Update: July 22, 2015

Environmental Service has completed designing a project that will replace sewer pipes in poor condition and relieve street flooding and basement sewer backups in the area bounded by NW Yeon Avenue, NW 29th Avenue, NW Nicolai Avenue, and NW St. Helens Road. The project includes diverting stormwater to the Balch Conduit sewer pipe, and replacing dams in the Balch Outfall pipe to prevent Willamette River water from backing up into the pipe during heavy rain events.0

Southwest Ventilation Project Update: July 14, 2015

Construction has moved from SW Taylors Ferry Road to SW Virginia Avenue in an Environmental Services project to reduce sewer odors and increase the capacity of the Southwest Parallel Interceptor sewer system. The project is designed to accommodate current needs and potential growth. Since February, the contractor has installed about 1,000 feet of 24-inch concrete pipe and 6 manholes along SW Taylors Ferry Road.

Sellwood-Moreland Sewer Rehab Project Construction Update: July 15, 2015

Several neighbors have asked about whether sewer construction will get in the way of upcoming community events, such as the Bridge Pedal, Passport to Sellwood, and the Tilikum Crossing Sunday Parkways event. We have coordinated with event planners, and studied the routes for these events. Barring construction emergencies, our crews will avoid scheduling work in locations that will interfere with these important community occasions.

SW Riverview Force Main Project Update: July 9, 2015

Environmental Services is working on a project to replace 3,000 feet of sewer main along Highway 43 from the Riverview Pump Station south to SW Riverwood Road. This project will protect public health, property and the environment.

Kenton Sewer Repair Construction Update, July 7th, 2015

Environmental Services is replacing about 7,000 feet of public sewer pipes in the Kenton neighborhood that are between 80 and 90 years old and deteriorating due to age. This project will increase sewer capacity and reduce the risks of street flooding and sewage releases to homes, businesses and streets.
