The pregnant fiancee of a Harvey man shot to death at Oakwood Center on Christmas Eve has sued the accused triggerman and the shopping mall. Bradrika Brown and Latoya Pierre filed suit Monday in the 24th Judicial District Court against the mall and Gary Francois , who is charged with killing James Vaughn.

Realtors group offering help to flood victims

The Palmetto State's realtor trade association is taking applications from victims of the recent flooding for mortgage and rent relief. The Realtors Relief Foundation , a partnership between the S.C. Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors , is offering up to $1,000 to qualified applicants for mortgage expenses or the cost of temporary housing as a result of displacement, a news release from the Columbia-based association said.

The estate of a Gravette woman killed in a crash filed a lawsuit Monday against J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc. in Benton County Circuit Court. Crystal Johnson, 34, died when a J.B. Hunt tractor-trailer driven by Joe W. Maldonado ran into the back of her Honda Accord on July 16 on Arkansas 72 in Benton County.

A Quebec judge has approved the new terms of a $450-million settlement fund for victims and creditors of the Lac-Megantic train disaster, prompting a lawyer in the case to say cheques should begin arriving in the mail by Christmas. Patrice Benoit, lawyer for Montreal Maine and Atlantic Railroad , the now-defunct railway company at the centre of the 2013 disaster, said a few administrative issues remain but that "everything is settled."
